USE Credit Union's La Mesa branch is hosting a document shredding event free to the public. As a community-based credit union, USE’s goal is to provide meaningful services that help local residents make informed financial decisions.
“One of the fastest growing forms of financial distress for consumers is identity theft,” explained branch manager Jeff Ginsberg. “We’re hoping people will take advantage of our free shred event to clean house and get rid of out-dated sensitive documents they no longer need.”
Normally, shredding old documents is time-consuming and anything but fun. But USE promises to change that image once and for all. That’s because the company promises a party atmosphere with food, families and fun – including an appearance by the company’s mascot (and a kid favorite) Penny Penguin.
